about us

The Society for Worldwide Medical Exchange

Empowering Physicians. Advancing Global Health. The Society for Worldwide Medical Exchange (SWME) is an international nonprofit that supports healthcare professionals from underserved communities by providing grants for continuing medical education (CME) and leading humanitarian efforts that address basic health needs worldwide. Whether it’s a scholarship for a physician to attend a global conference or a clean water initiative to protect schoolchildren, SWME connects people, knowledge, and purpose.

Mission

To reduce global health disparities by supporting doctors in underserved regions through access to continuing education, grant-based scholarships, and humanitarian programs.

Vision

A world where all physicians have the opportunity to learn, grow, and serve their communities with dignity and excellence.

Our History

Founded in 2012, SWME quickly became a recognized force in the global medical community by addressing the critical lack of access to continuing education for doctors in developing regions. Over the years, we have facilitated attendance at major CME conferences, developed specialty training programs, and established global partnerships to promote ethical, evidence-based care. Today, we continue our legacy through targeted scholarship programs and high-impact humanitarian efforts that improve health outcomes and community resilience.
